Cindy Sheehan Gives Up.
Portrait by Robert Shetterly
Sadly, another mainstream force in the anti-war movement has been defeated by the frustration and hopelessness that's the foundation for the mighty USofA. Cindy Sheehan, a pundit supporting the immediate withdrawl of troops from Iraq, was a military mom when she turned anti-war activist after her son was killed while serving in the US forces occupying Iraq. She went on to meet with many outspoken opponents of the war and staged her own protest by camping out on the side of the road in front of George Bush's private home in Crawford, Texas.
At first she was supported by the puppets in the flimsy democratic party (you know, the ones that intentionally call themselves "liberals") but she became alienated from that group when she called them out for what they are, corporate fascists with a donkey button instead of an elephant tie tack.
"It amazes me that people who are sharp on the issues and can zero in like a laser beam on lies, misrepresentations, and political expediency when it comes to one party refuse to recognize it in their own party." - Cindy SHeehan.
She finally succumed to the overwhelming feeling of political despair, similar to our own dear friend, Fat Mike, and his feigning from politics after his foray into the spotlight with Punkvoter.
This pretty much sucks. At the same time, there's no real reason why those people shouldn't be you or I. Perhaps they had a fire lit under their asses, or in Mike's case, an already public personality. However great your own contribution is, make sure it's more than just reading about it. Support our troops by being vocal about bringing them home.
